Hullo all!

Sorry I've not been around, it's all going a bit busy in my life :) Anyway, the latest news post can be found at: http://www.dwcon.org/news/2012/01/30/waiting-list

For the link phobic text is as follows:

We are full, what to do...

Firstly the good news. We're full! Unfortunately, that's also the bad news.

So, what next? For a few lucky people it is likely that the chance to attend the only event of 2012 worth mentioning hasn't disappeared faster than the petty cash into Nobby's pocket. There will be a small number of members for whom the next seven months will not be kind and who will have to change their plans, leaving a membership available*. So there will remain a very limited number of memberships which will be returned to the pool that can be offered to people on the waiting list.

So, for some of you:
Your first step: go to the DWCon website membership sign up page and join the waiting list. This places you in the queue with many other hopefuls. The queue will be dealt with in strict order of joining.

Second step: wait, be patient and make whatever offerings you deem appropriate to the gods of your choice (I personally recommend Topaxi).

Third step: if you are contacted by Membership regarding a place respond as quickly as you can.

This last point is very important, all transfers must be complete by four weeks out from the start of the convention, after this point the membership database is closed to changes so that the printing presses can get rolling. So we will be pushing to ensure that any recycled memberships are dealt with in as efficient a manner as possible.

The waiting list is already <as long as a long thing.. stuff like that.. low chance of getting in but you never know.. >

And for some others of you:
If you are one of the unfortunates who cannot make it in August, we'll miss you! However your options are simple:

1) Sell / gift your membership to a fan you know. If you go this route please confirm their details and that you are transferring your membership to them. Remember that the membership has to be the "right type" for the new member. If there is a discrepancy then the membership team will discuss payment methods for the difference with the new member (ie, upgrading a child membership to a full, there is no option to downgrade); Or,

2) Let the Membership team know you need to find a new home for your membership and let them handle the details.

*While we do not refund memberships, we shall do so if it is able to be resold and only up to four weeks before the start of the Convention.
