I just learned from the reddit for Diana Wynne Jones books that there is an edition of The Dark Lord of Derkholm that has a sort of Missing Chapter in it. The person who noticed it - it is the Millennium publication of 2000 from Gollancz - found it online in an archive and I managed to fool the machine into giving me what I think is all the extra text. It's at the end of Chapter Fourteen, and shows Mara making plans and being harsh about Derk. Having read it, I now feel that the original editing decision was correct, as it has spoilers that weaken the effect of later events.
