Apparently we've got Ice Warriors, two Masters (which Big Finish did first), the original Mondasian Cybermen...and the contractual obligation appearance of the Daleks.

Not "canon," but I'd give honorable mention to Richard Hurndall, who played the Hartnell Doctor in "The Five Doctors," 1983. And Peter Cushing, who portrayed a Hartnell-type Doctor in two films, "Dr Who and the Daleks," (1965) and "Daleks - Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D." (1966).

I thought there were great bits, but it was a bit more hit and miss than the last two seasons. The 'Monks' trilogy was a bit misjudged as they used up three episodes on a story which just wasn't that brilliant.

The 'Vault' storyline was a bit of a damp squib as its contents just weren't that surprising.

I thought there were a lot of good bits though. Really liked Bill. Really liked the idea of the Doctor teaching at a university. Nardole was surprisingly cool. Thin Ice was great. That punch was hilarious, as was 'no sh**!' Oxygen was also pretty great.

The finale was great. Really great use of time dilation as a plot lot device and both the returning individual villain and class of villain worked really well.

So yes, flawed season but good overall. :)

I might write a post with my favourite quotes from the season as there were some great ones.
