Obviously, the name of the series is Seven Realms, and the author is Cnda Williams Chima.

From her website, it sounds like pretty typical YA teen fantasy - demon king, street kid gang fighter with a mysterious past, princess with ambition to be more than just a pretty face. etc. Might be a good read. I haven't come across them to check them out.
