At the beginning of this year I started to write a book blog, partly to document what I have but mainly just to see if I could write something (hopefully interesting) every week. This week I did my first entry about Terry's work and chose the time he was starting out at the Bucks Free Press and was writing as Uncle Jim. I hope you like it.

Yes they are children's stories but you can see Terry honing his skills through them and I really want the other 50% still missing to be printed in book form. This represents over 40 stories by Terry that are only available in old newspapers, enough for 3 more volumes.

Sometime in the next couple of months I plan to do a comparison of the two published versions of The Carpet People, They are quite different and it's interesting to see where Terry thought he needed to make changes.

A great article, Mad! I didn’t know Sir Terry started writing under a pen name as Uncle Jim! Oh, and I really liked to see the comparisons between the different editions.

Congratulations on your blog, it’s definitely unique. Keep sharing your posts!
