Just finished reading the new diary and it's great to see that the old much loved format has been retained. Not only is it a usable diary should you be crazy enough to want to write in it but it is definitely a new source of material about Igors and Igorinas

There is much to enjoy including guides for fitting in in the big city, information about services to expect from your Igor and also a contract of employment amongst other things. Maybe not as much as in the previous guild editions but still a very enjoyable addition to any Discworld library

It's not a book per se! Mixa, but a diary with some notes added and some pages of text and small bits of artwork. I you go onto Amazon click on the diary where it says look inside and you will get an idea of what it's like.

Very tempted to pick this up. However being a completist I fear this will kick start me into buying the old diaries, some of them go for crazy prices on eBay!

Need to speed up some translators for all foreigners to read new good books as fast as it may be. Well translators won't like this I think... bu-u-ut... :)

Sigh. I'd have loved to pick up some of the older diaries (e.g. the A-M Watch Diary or the Vampire Diary), but they go for prices up to and including £100 (and often more). Much as I love Discworld, I can't afford to spend $120 on the A-M Watch Diary. :(

The AMWD came out in 1999 and is now $120. The Post Office Diary came out in 2007 and is now $100.

These prices are insa-a-a-y-y-y-y-y-ne...
