Oh, hello.

Once again the rather daft but always out to entertain theatre group Laughing Monkey have ventured out to bring the disk and it’s resident to the stage, with Steven Brigg’s adaptation of the Terry Pratchett’s Maskerade on the 13th, 15th and 16th of October.

Returning to the disk following our last outing in ‘Wyrd Sisters’, we find ourselves in a curious tale that bares absolutely no resemblance to any other stories about phantoms ... in opera houses ... honest!

The prospect of becoming a witch doesn't really appeal to Agnes Nitt … certainly not if Granny Weatherwax is anything to go by. Fleeing her destiny she travels to Ankh Morpork where she means to make a name for herself as a singer at the Discworld-famous Opera House … although singing someone else's part, from the chorus, wasn't quite what she had in mind. Within the Opera House, fear and terror are rife. The infamous 'Opera Ghost', once considered good luck by the company, has recently been responsible for a number of terrible 'accidents': vandalism, assault … even murder …

Meanwhile, with their coven reduced to two, Nanny Ogg is very worried that Granny Weatherwax might be turning … well … black. Fortunately Granny's ire is pricked when she discovers that Nanny's rather suspect cook-book, The Joye of Snacks, has made a fortune for a publishing house in Ankh Morpork. Setting off to recover her diddled royalties, the witches become embroiled in the mystery at the Opera House … and if there's one thing Granny Weatherwax won't put up with, it's a mystery ...

Intrigued? By the Turtle, you should be. So come on down to the Norwich Puppet Theatre and see how this tale plays out.
