Ashley Jensen is far too young, and far too pretty to play Agatha.

I hate when people with no idea make a programme out of a favourite book.

I've only read one Agatha. Isn't she in her fifties and a big, obstreporous woman?

Yup. At least a size 14/16, which Ms Jensen certainly isn't.

I get a bit annoyed with the writing sometimes - the author keeps saying that Agatha has ".. bear-like eyes", and that she "brushed her hair until it shone" far too many times, but the stories are great fun.

I really need to change career and become a casting director!!!

They used Penelope Keith in the radio version. She was a little bit too posh, but not bad in the part. I love the books.

Sky1 has rounded out the cast for their upcoming Christmas drama Agatha Raisin And The Quiche Of Death.

Hermione Norris (Spooks), Robert Bathurst (Downton Abbey), Katy Wix (Not Going Out), Mathew Horne (Gavin and Stacey), Jamie Glover (Waterloo Road), James Barnett and Matt McCooey have all been cast in the 90 minute drama, which is being toplined by The Escape Artist star Ashley Jensen.

I've not read the books but Ashley Jenson is 45, so she's not that far off..

Did you watch this in the end? I neglected to mention that I was involved in rushes management for this at the post production company I work at.
