The simple answer is that I truly believe you will want to find out more about the main characters and what happens to them on their individual quests in Book Two, WITCHES and QUESTS and (in my opinion) the best of the trilogy, Book Three, SORCERERS and DEMONS.
I know that if, like me, you love Sir Terry Pratchett’s Discworld stories you will be overjoyed by a new author to this niche genre of storytelling and comic fantasy. And if you don’t like apprentice wizard Walter, or Prince Rupert and his unfiltered observations there’s definitely something wrong with your funny bone . . . .
At first glance it may appear that these books are simply about unlocking, and then utilising, magic to take revenge; but they are concerned with so, so much more than something as mundane as payback. Walter’s story is really about the healing power of laughter and of hope, love and surprising friendships. It has been written for the bullied of our own world to help them realise that there really can be a joyful future waiting for them beyond their silent pain and suffering. That there really is hope and love.
It would also benefit bullies to read Walter’s tale, since it reveals what their closest ‘friends’ probably really feel about them.
So give it a whirl, what have you got to lose? You don't even have to cut-your-own-throat to buy this book; onna stick or just held in your hand, because it's free!
