What are some of the things you've noticed that always seem to happen in films and TV shows?

Here are a few that I've spotted:

If there's tape put up by the police to protect a crime scene, everyone will ignore it.
No one ever finishes eating a meal or a drink in Star Trek.
If there's an underground/multi storey car park in there, you can be sure someone will get killed or wounded in there.
If someone is being chased, they will always go up in a building, despite the fact that this will mean they'll get trapped.
Any countdown will always get stopped with less than ten seconds to spare.
Any girl disguising herself as a man will never be spotted and as soon as she takes the disguise off, someone will fall in love with her.

Can you think of any others?

No one in film or television has even the most basic grasp of telephone etiquette. People just answer the phone with a curt "Yes?" talk for a bit then hang up, usually without even a cursory "'Bye".

If a man and woman don't like each other, they'll invariably end up together. Because all male-female antagonism is a symptom of sexual tension, instead of, say, the fact that two people just don't like each other. People in film and television don't seem to have grasped romantic interaction beyond a primary school level.

If a film or TV show was produced outside of Britain, anyone with a British accent will be an evil, degenerate, psychopath. (Hugh Grant exists purely to emphasise this otherwise widely engaged in element of the British psyche.

Mobile phone coverage only extends to approximately 2% of the surface of the planet, as evidenced by the fact that anyone in any kind of danger or in urgent need of communication can't get a signal.

Only people with severe speech impediments stumble over words, mix things up or aren't understood by everyone around them. Perfect diction and projection are the norm.

And computers always boot up straight away and connect to the Internet with no dely.

If doctors are trying to start some one's heart with electric paddles (can't think what it's called), it never ever works first time.

The heroine always has long open hair, long, manicured nails and high heels and never changes this fact. She is always a slightly helpless idiot. She might live on her own and be an exceptional professor of something, but as soon as the hero turns up,her brains go mush. She will be able to carry home four huge shopping bags without batting an eyelid, but as soon as HE turns up she can´t even pull out her beheeled foot from under a bookshelf without breaking it.
Every normal woman would first break off the heels and tie up her hair when in a dangerous situation, but our heroine never does.Yes,she trips over roots, but she never breaks a heel. She might even fall over, but she will still hang on to the bloody things.
She will invariably wear a very short, tight skirt even when she´s a gardener or a forensic, but will be able to climb ladders, ride horses or swim in it without it ever sliding up or tearing. She might not be able to see a thing, but she cannot master the simplest hair-and-pencil do,whatever else she might be doing. She will never tear a nail, and, when saved,no matter what happened to her,her hair,make-up and nails will instantly be perfect again. She never has to go to the loo,not even if it´s freezing cold. She just goes to powder her nose.

(Lara Croft does not count ;))

When hacking computer systems they never fail!
Also whenever good guys go into a building to attck bad guys, they bring a few unknown characters with them, these characters always die.
