My first toe-dip into the Ankh was Going Postal.

No wonder I was traumatised, and it took me a year to get up the courage to try again (from the beginning!!).

Actually, I don't think it's too bad a place to start, but I can see what you mean.

It took me ages to realise that I should just ignore reality and go with the flow.

I started with 3 rincewind books then onto thud then maskerade, just the order i'm able to find them in the library but they're surprisingly easy to pick up anywhere! I suppose reading discworld books involves a lot of putting aside of common sense and chronological order!
