The Night Tiger, by Yangsze Choo. Not a sequel, but also set in the mixed culture of Malaya, this time in the 1930s. The story is a bit convoluted, as young people of several nationalities try to deal with difficult relationships, loyalties, jobs, a were-tiger, several murders, and a modernized afterlife. This novel is another page-turner, this time with an opening for a sequel, though it ends at a good stopping place.
