Many of the plays don't require too much background, which is great - the theatre company I used to be involved with has done almost 30 Discworld plays over the last 15 years, and I'm sure there's plenty of their regular audiences who've never actually picked up a Discworld book despite all of this. The only Rincewind stories they've done have been Interesting Times (Briggs's adaptation) and their own adaptation of The Last Continent (which goes across well in Australia, you can imagine). Many of the others: Witches, Watch, and a few individual ones like Small Gods, Pyramids, Mort, Reaper Man and Thief of Time have also been well received. This year they're doing The Wee Free Men.
