You'll be surprised, but August 30th actually is International Bacon Day. Here: https://www.google.com/search?q=International+Bacon+Day&ie=UTF-8
There's apparently a National or International Day for everything. I've heard of International Cupcake Day, for instance (December 15th). If you're curious, here: National Day Calendar (only in the US). According to it, it's also:
- National Going to the Beach Day;
- National Grief Awareness Day; and
- National Toasted Marshmallow Day.
I wonder they don't give up and make an International Everything Day.
On a (slightly) more cultural note, it's also Itzhak Perlman's birthday today. He is 80. Many happy returns, Maestro!
