Being Human - Series 3

I see that the second season of the dreadful American re-make of Being Human has started in The States. I watched the first three episodes of the first season then gave up on it. It's funny how the Americans take a series they really like and then change it.

You got through 3 episodes?! Chances are, most people over here don't even know there's an original UK version, so nothing to compare it to. Why the people who make the shows change them so much is beyond me. They see something successful somewhere else, but then feel they have to make changes to market it here. Who knows? One of those mysteries we'll just have to live with.

It works sometimes. All in the Family, arguably one of the all time greats of American TV shows, was a remake of a British show, 'Til Death do Us Part'. Archie Bunker was the American Alf Garnett.

That's a very good point. I wonder what I would have thought of the American series if I'd never seen the original British one.

The Americans are aware of the original British version. Many of them (that I've read in comments sections) prefer it.

They really just sucked out all the things that made it fun and quirky. George was my favorite. He had the best lines!

I missed this earlier, funny! I'm sure there are a lot of Americans who know about and have seen the original, and it wouldn't surprise me at all that they prefer it. Although, I'm assuming that there have to be a fair number of American TV watchers who aren't aware of it. Could be wrong though! Of course, Americans preferring the original would likely do nothing to change the opinion of the people producing the U.S. version.

Tony, didn't know that about All in the Family! My dad used to LOVE that show.

Mr Weasley is great in it and Tom is now my new favourite character in the whole series!

It's still on Iplayer. That's how I've been watching it, I got off to late start + her indoors stopped watching after S1
