The first full-length trailer for the new series of Doctor Who has been released.

It's thrilling and chilling stuff (allegedly!).

We're told that 'This is the Doctor's darkest hour... he'll rise higher than ever before and then fall so much further...' and we get tantalising glimpses of the Time Lord's new adventures.

We also get our first look at Lily Cole as the mysterious character who haunts a ship, and Hugh Bonneville as the pirate captain. Plus, ominous lines from the Doctor, a spooky clown, a scary-looking monster and River looking (allegedly!) very cool!

The trailer below is the 60 second version and will be on BBC ONE tonight at 8pm. Whoops! Missed it! <laugh>

David Tennant has become a father for the first time, it has been revealed.

The former Doctor Who star's fiancée Georgia Moffett is said to have recently given birth to a baby girl.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple are thought to have named the child Olivia.

"Georgia and David could not be happier," a source said. "Olivia is beautiful and their families are over the moon.

"They did very well in keeping everything very nearly private and keeping things under wraps. Georgia was a lot more pregnant than people thought when the news first broke."

It was revealed as recently as January that Tennant and Moffett were expecting a child, not long after it was reported that the pair had got engaged.

The couple met on the set of an episode of Doctor Who, in which Moffett - the real-life daughter of former Time Lord Peter Davison - played the Tenth Doctor's own child, Jenny.

Moffett already has a son, named Ty, although she has never publicly revealed the father's identity.
