Wasn't it announced that Blu-Ray was being discontinued as a format?

I find it curious that there's no release date. Is there? I couldn't see it.

=Tamar, the last I heard was this: "Sony and Panasonic currently lead in the Blu-ray player market, and they have not announced plans to discontinue production. Samsung probably made this decision in response to its competitors' market dominance, not just the shrinking marketplace for physical media." (Thanks, Mr Google!) :p

Ah, that sounds better. I think what I read may have been the article in The Verge, around the same time. They were doom-saying about any and all physical media versus streaming.
I still regret the diminishing of the competitive market.

The Further Nice and Accurate Prophecies may well have had a prophecy in it stating 'Do Notte Buye Blue Raye'.
