The film sequel itself was announced maybe a year or so ago, but just recently they have confirmed the returning voice cast plus a few new actors.

Terry did have an idea for a Maurice sequel (The Redoubtable Maurice) featuring Maurice as a ship's cat - I think the filmmakers have taken that idea and done their own thing (using their own title: The Amazing Maurice - The Waters of Life).

Producer Andrew Baker is a big fan, which is why the first film is reasonably accurate to the book, we have an interview lined up with him and another producer for the Australian Discworld Convention in April, so hopefully he'll be able to share a bit more information about this new film then!

Watch it today! I'm a stickler for book accuracy, and I liked it.

I hope the sequel will be burned to DVD and sold. I'd like to "own" a copy. ("Own" in double-quotes because I know I don't own the film and can't show it publicly; I only own a copy, and only for home entertainment).

I was floored when I saw that animated adaptation show up in my Disney+ feed. Had no idea it existed, and realized it was already a few years old. I found it to be an excellent take - not perfect, of course - (Hamnpork and Darktan were merged into one character, the concept of the Rat King was a little rushed, and Dangerous Bean's role was reduced more than I liked) but well done, and very enjoyable. I am quite curious what the sequel would be,

It was certainly better than I thought it would be. I'm hopeful for the sequel.
