Song Sung Lo, General ==> Ling, Ting

(By the way, why do Asian-sounding* names in Discworld always sound like something out of Gilbert and Sullivan? "Ting Ling", "Song Sung Lo", "Soon Shine Sun" etc.

I realise it's wordplay, and I don't expect complete realism. But not everything needs a 'jokey' name -- and I'm sure that not everything does. I'm sure that the "Cadre" of kids in "Interesting Times" has more realistic names than "Soon Shine Sun". :) At least, they don't have names like Black Bean Beef etc. (which, of course, STP never used). What's your view?)

Ling, Ting ==> gonne

The individual phonemes are legit. The names are in a comic novel.
People routinely make lists of perfectly normal English names and laugh at them - Capability Brown, Praise-God Barebone, etc.
PTerry used Mightily Oats, Brother Nhumrod, etc
I see no problem.
