I find this story a bit suspect. Most historians say that what finally turned the Battle of the Atlantic to the allies' favor was the ability of Alan Turing's team at Bletchley Park to decode the German Enigma-coded naval radio transmissions. This enabled enabled the allies to pinpoint the locations of the U-Boats. This enabled the naval convoys and change course and helped destroyers sink more subs. Many of those on the Bletchtley Park team were women.

Ehh, a Timex might cost a few hundred. A Tag Heuer or a Longines watch would cost thousands, easily. (Then again, there are watches that would set you back a cool $350,000 AUD. :eek: Just google "most expensive watch" if you like...) ;)
