Anyone familiar with the Australian show Wilfred? They're remaking it with Elijah Wood in the States, first episode tonight.

I saw the first two Australian eps this week and it was interesting and original with a creepy vibe. Which is good :)

They're remaking Wilfred? Is Elijah Wood playing the man or the dog?

Yeah, but it looks like the original thrust of the series has been changed. I never watched it, but the original Wilfred, from what I read, was basically a man competing with his girlfriend's dog for said girlfriend's affections. This seems very different. I'm not saying it isn't good, because I haven't watched the original, and with the original co-creator in, it should have something of the spirit of the original.

I am at least relieved that the original guy is playing the dog... but I can't see the Americans letting the dog get as dirty and down as the original Aussie series. (and thats the thrust of the story).

Willthey LET a dog to seen to smoke on TV over there?
Del, they have it on the American show's website, with a faux public service announcement on whether you've caught your dog developing a nicotine addiction.

Do they have a warning about the porn aspect of the dog humping stuffed toys?

I watched the show a few times... never really got into it.
I've never gotten into Australian comedy in a big way, period. It says something when our best efforts are Kingswood Country and Double the Fist.
