I loved the special over the New Year. I thought it was very cleverly done and answered some unanswered questions from the last series.

I was very pleased to see that I was correct about the fate of Moriarty. The last series ended with Moriarty appearing on TV screens. The series is, as much as possible, staying pretty loyal to the original. Moriarty died quite early in the original books and never came back.
